We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Joshua Wium and Kaaren Joubert to Associates at Cato Bolam.

Joshua Wium – Senior Ecologist and Associate
Joshua is a highly regarded ecologist with extensive experience across a range of ecological fields. He brings specialist knowledge in Environmental Enhancement Subdivision, Transferable Development Rights, ecological impact assessments, wetland and stream identification, Significant Ecological Area (SEA) assessments, and native bush and wetland restoration.
Joshua’s deep understanding of environmental policy and protocols enables him to identify constraints and opportunities early in the project lifecycle—ensuring smoother processes and better long-term outcomes for landowners and the environment.

Kaaren Joubert – Planning Manager and Associate
Kaaren is a highly experienced and respected planner with a strong track record across both public and private sector roles. Her in-depth knowledge of Auckland’s planning landscape, paired with her ability to navigate complex consenting pathways, makes her an invaluable member of our team.
Kaaren has played a lead role in delivering large-scale private plan changes and has provided expert input into master planning and resource consents for a wide range of land development projects across Auckland and Northland. Her strategic approach and ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and councils help ensure successful outcomes from concept to consent.
