Peter Reaburn Director

Peter Reaburn has been a Director since 2003 and is based in Cato Bolam’s Henderson office. He leads the planning services provided by the company.

Peter came to Cato Bolam after gaining many years’ experience in a number of management roles at local authorities. He has more than 35 years’ experience in various aspects of strategic and statutory planning, with particular specialties in plan changes and large or complex urban developments. Peter has developed a sound reputation as an innovative thinker, a champion of sustainability and a supporter of urban intensification. Peter is also active in supporting retaining of New Zealand’s important natural environment resources and he regularly appears as an expert planning witness on these matters at the Environment Court and other hearings.

Peter is an accredited hearings commissioner, with the chair’s endorsement, and undertakes regular Resource Management Commissioner functions in Auckland and throughout New Zealand. He also has experience in hearings under the Reserves Act 1977.

Outside work, Peter, with his wife Lianne, has been involved for many years in the sport of waka ama which regularly takes him to events throughout New Zealand and around the Pacific.
