Westgate Lifestyle Centre

Westgate Lifestyle Centre is a large format retail centre in the new master-planned Westgate Town Centre.  The complex has 28 large format retail stores featuring a range of home and living retailers.   The circa 5-hectare site is anchored by Harvey Norman, Briscoes and Rebel Sport.  There is a large array of supporting large format retail shops spread over 25,000m2 of building area. The development works included the construction or privately owned Gunton Road. 

Cato Bolam were engaged to provide all primary land development services including resource consenting from the early feasibility stages and all civil engineering design on the retail centre, surrounding roading and supporting loading areas. The combination of smart design features and innovative design allowed for an excellent environmentally friendly result.  This included features such as tree pits and hybrid rain gardens incorporating filters.  Bioretention stormwater quality devices provided treatment without the loss of space normally encountered with large rain gardens conserving land area needed for car parking.  This at source design combined with downstream stormwater devices has delivered stormwater quality treatment to a level significantly higher than that required by Council standards.
