Chris Solleder

Chris Solleder is a highly experienced land development and engineering professional who supports Cato Bolam clients and project teams in a senior advisory capacity.

Chris originally joined Cato Bolam in 2004. After some time away gaining his Chartered Professional Engineer qualification, he returned to the company in 2011 as a Principal and became a Director in 2018. Over many years, Chris has made a significant contribution to Cato Bolam’s development, engineering and design management capability, including his involvement in the establishment and growth of the company’s architectural services.

As an experienced Design Manager, Chris brings a balanced, practical and solution-focused perspective to complex development projects. He works across disciplines to help achieve coordinated project outcomes, drawing on his experience with architects, planners, engineers and wider project teams.

Chris’s expertise covers a broad range of land development engineering projects, including residential, commercial, retail and industrial developments. His areas of experience include stormwater management, earthworks, roading, infrastructure, project management, contract management, development design and resource consenting.

In his Senior Advisor role, Chris provides strategic input on selected projects where his experience, technical judgement and long-standing industry knowledge add value. He also supports internal teams on complex engineering and design matters, helping maintain strong project outcomes and continuity for clients.

Chris has a proven ability to identify and address complex engineering challenges by developing innovative, cost-effective and practical design solutions. His ongoing advisory involvement enables clients and project teams to continue benefiting from his depth of experience, while being supported by Cato Bolam’s wider multidisciplinary team.

Outside work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and making the most of water sports and beach activities. He also enjoys dusting off the old golf clubs and attempting to relive former glory days on the golf course.
