Michelle Bain Director
Michelle has been a Director of Cato Bolam since 1995 and the sole Director managing the Cato Bolam Orewa office for the last 15 years. Michelle is a highly experienced land development consultant and a Registered Professional Surveyor with 30 years’ experience in residential, commercial and rural land development projects, including master planned communities.
Michelle’s experience and expertise in project management and team coordination as the lead consultant on significant land development projects has resulted in the delivery of many successful significant projects and positive client relationships. Michelle’s outstanding project management skills, and excellent relationships with fellow professionals ensures that the best team is selected on a project by project basis irrespective of the scale or complexity.
Michelle is a forward-thinker, constantly active in ensuring Cato Bolam’s services are at the leading-edge, and responsive to our changing environments.
Throughout her career, Michelle has remained active in the wider profession. In 2002, she was awarded the NZIS Fulton Bequest for services of a young surveyor to the profession, and in 2018 she was appointed as a Board Member of Survey and Spatial New Zealand (formerly New Zealand Institute of Surveyors).
Outside work you’ll find Michelle cruising in the family keelboat on the Hauraki Gulf, mountain biking or chasing her family to winter destinations as her son pursues alpine ski Olympic aspirations. Michelle’s passion is sailing. She won gold at the 2016 World Masters Games, is a Trustee of the New Zealand Sailing Foundation supporting youth sailing to achieve their dreams. Over the last five years Michelle has managed the new build of the Torbay Sailing Club and organisation of the World Master Games Sailing. Above all Michelle treasures time with her husband and son.
