Senior Planner – Auckland

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our Auckland team. This role can be based in either Henderson or Orewa, offering the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects across the region.

You will take a lead role in delivering planning projects across residential, rural, and commercial developments. Your work will span not only Auckland but also extend north through Northland and the Far North, providing exposure to a broader range of planning environments and project types.

Working closely with clients, directors, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help shape outcomes and drive projects through the resource consent process.

About You

You will be an experienced planner with at least 6 years’ New Zealand experience, strong technical capability, and the confidence to manage projects and relationships. You will enjoy working collaboratively while also being able to operate independently.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• A relevant planning degree and 6+ years’ New Zealand planning experience (Auckland experience preferred)
• Strong project leadership and organisational capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of planning frameworks and consent processes
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
• Eligibility for (or membership of) the New Zealand Planning Institute
• Experience or interest in urban design, plan change work, or broader project management will be an advantage.

Location: Henderson or Orewa

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with an emphasis on being actively involved in the team and project delivery.
