The Details

We are proud to partner with Auckland Airport to deliver their annual OLS Survey.

Obstacle Limitation Surface Surveys are completed as part of an Airport Technical Inspection (ATI) and are essential to ensure the safety of airfields and runway compliance.

Nick Muller – Airfield Assets and Technical Manager at Auckland Airport, shares his experience working with us below:

The 5 yearly survey of our runway obstacle limitation surfaces is a complex task but necessary to ensure safety and compliance of operations in and out of New Zealand’s main gateway. The survey ensures that new obstacles for the runway are identified and published for all airline operators. Existing obstacles can be monitored to ensure natural growth from trees is maintained below the obstacle surfaces. Cato Bolam did a great job of understanding the survey requirements and provided data in the specified format used to develop the aeronautical charts for the airport.
